The 8th Annual Cinco de Mayo Fest returns to Fat City Park, expanding to two days of live music, DJs, margaritas, and gourmet tacos from popular local taqueria Los Jefes Grill. 10,000 Attendees, Fat City Park, May 4-5, 2024

In 2016, Los Jefes Grill burst onto the Metairie scene with proprietor Oscar Chimal's first taqueria. While the restaurant expanded over the years, so has its Cinco de Mayo Fest. Once just a block party on Edenborn in front of the restaurant has grown into one of the biggest parties of the year. Just one block from Los Jefes, thousands of taco-and-tequila lovers converge on Fat City Park to celebrate Mexico’s victory over France at the Battle of Pueblo by drinking copious amounts of tequila and dancing the night away.

Past events included live music by top local and national acts like Honey Island Swamp Band, DJ Mannie Fresh, and the Molly Ringwalds. Expect even bigger acts this year with the expanded schedule. VIP tickets include a premium buffet and Avion bottle service, plus additional entertainment under a 60' x 120' Big Top.

Cinco de Mayo Fest is now the signature Cinco event of New Orleans/ Metairie and officially the biggest Cinco de Mayo festival in the region. Last year's celebration included over 5,000 patrons and this year's weekend event is expected to draw over 10,000 festival-goers to Fat City Park.

Proceeds from Cinco de Mayo Fest will benefit Ecco, a Louisiana 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created to provide assistance to the Hispanic / Latino community by aiding high school students with guidance and mentorship for college. Last year, Ecco students were awarded over $2 million in college scholarships.
